Sid Meier's Memoir! was a nice read that made me pick up Civ V again just to appreciate what went into it. I was hoping to hear more game design insights on the level of "a game is a series of interesting decisions" and making adjustments by double or half, but I guess that's not what a memoir is for - maybe in another book.

I've got a commissioned story I'm supposed to be writing, but I haven't been able to get my creative juices flowing. The words aren't coming, but I also have to admit I haven't been trying very hard.

I feel it. I'm supposed to be cranking out passages in Twine; I haven't been lately - or, when I do, it's on a sprint for an exciting new idea that putters out in a day. Maybe doing a short write-up of a related idea to your story would help get you in the mood to continue, like an out-of-text aside about one specific thing or one character that might not fit in the story itself but is interesting to think about.
