5:10am - Down at the McDonalds again. Still feeling depressed. Starting to think it might have something to do with missing out on that job opportunity. It's been all bad news on the job front lately. I've also been dreaming about my parents a lot. My Mom's passed over a year ago, and my Dad's still doing okay, but there's things I've been thinking about talking with him about while I still have time. I don't know how it'll go but we'll see.
For now I've got some projects that have been waiting for me to get on with them.
I've been thinking about what I'd do next and how to test, and master, the Job System as implemented by Unity. I think what I'm going to do is set up a GUI using the Unity GUI system, give it some buttons, and one will do a delay on the main thread, and one will do a delay on a worker thread. That'll at least give me a start.
5:42am - I put a panel and a button down then got distracted. I'm still kind of distracted.
6:02am - Okay I got more iced tea and I'm feeling a bit better now. I've got three buttons on my panel now and pressing the first button puts the thread to sleep for ten seconds, locking up the UI like I expected.
Now I need to make the second button start up a job where the job sleeps for a little while then puts a message in the console.
6:54am - Geez. I went to the Game Dev League to ask about things since I was having trouble understanding the new Unity Job System and if it would be right for my game, and now they're like, go learn the basics of Multithreading, and I'm like, oh okay...
7:17am - It bugs me when I come out for just two hours and go home, but I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open and I'm basically at a 'Go Read More' stage... I dunno. I'm feeling kind of disheartened anyways. But yes, tired. I'm going to go home and lay down and maybe read some articles.
