4:44am - Down at the McDonald's this morning, and I guess it's good they were closed this morning since they got attacked by someone. A window was broken around 2:30am they said, and I saw it on the way in. Real mess, the whole pane broken in. I'd hate to think what would've happened if the attacker could've just walked inside. :/
Anyways I'm here now and that means it's time for work. I've got a GUI that doesn't do anything, so I think my next exercise will be making it work. Not that it'll do anything cool, I'm just going to make it post text in the main text area when the post button is pushed, but that's something interesting.
5:59am - I discovered a secret! Not really a secret but something I had overlooked; the first entry in the Godot documentation has a step by step guide to using Godot in plain and simple terms. I'm going over it now. I don't know how I missed it so many times. I guess it wasn't obvious?
I thought it was a title, anyways, for the following content. Not a link to content itself!
7:29am - I've gotten far enough in the Godot Step by Step tutorials to understand how to do what I was trying to do before, and I've done it. At least the first step anyways; pressing enter after writing in the text entry bar enters text into the RichTextLabel I'm using for a display, above it. Though, I'm having trouble getting the text to actually be rich. The tags didn't change the appearance, but at least they didn't show up in plain text...
7:41am - Okay now it works with the rich text. I had to give it fonts for each type. What a chore that was, and that was just for one item. I think if I'm going to actually use this for an app I'll have to make use of the theme options.
7:59am - The weather has turned foul, it's raining a lot and everything is wet and probably crazy hot out there. I'll probably be sticking around here for a couple more hours though, because I have plans out today. I want to hit the farmer's market, maybe hit the gibraltar weekend market, and hopefully buzz past the Tennocon convention center before it opens and see some cosplayers waiting in line. <3
I didn't get a ticket this year; they sold out too quick. However, living in the town where it happens has backup plans. I probably would've just embarassed myself trying to talk to the Devs anyways. XD
Back to work for now though. I'll probably try to leave around 10:20 so I can get across town in time. Hopefully it's not raining then, also.
8:34am - My GUI Test project is looking pretty good. Everything is updating nicely and you can post either by pushing enter or the post button, and the entry line clears when you post, and the text window scrolls down when it changes. So it's all good. <3
8:48am - I just went ahead and made the quit button work too.
Also there's a domestic disturbance going on across the way from me, so that's unpleasant. If this guy isn't beating his girlfriend or daughter or whoever he's threatning over there, I'd be surprised. Bleh. He's so pissed just 'cause they got their muffin flavours mixed up. :/
Well, I'm just going off gut feelings here. I don't have any actual evidence, and unless he actually smacks her in sight of me in a McDonalds, there's not much I can do about that. Alas.
Anyways I'm going to try and follow the tutorial some more. It's gotten around to 'Make your first game!' and I think I could learn quite a bit by following along, so I will.
10:11am - I'm at a good stopping point and it's getting close to my leave time, so I'm going to finish up now.

Hopefully I'll have good luck and see some Warframes downtown!
