2:10am - I've been having trouble getting myself to do any work recently, and I just realized it was probably because I hadn't been making work posts. It's become a no-brainer to open up my DW journal when I'm coding, but for other kinds of work I haven't been doing it and the work hasn't been getting done. Can't focus, too distracted, and noplace to look to get back on the train of thought.
I've got a lot of stuff on my plate right now. Obviously there's my regular coding projects, but I don't think this is a good time to work on those, and I have a lot of other things to do too.
I also have a story I need to continue writing for Inktail. I might be able to do that now but I feel the other things might come first.
The main thing I want to work on right now is getting my website taken care of.
I actually have a few sites located at the same web host, but the one I want to focus on right now is my professional site. It's a got a blog that I never update, and I think that makes me look bad! So I'm going to figure out first what I want to do with my website, and then actually implement those changes.
First let's look at the website and see if there's anything I need to archive on there.
2:25am - Holy cats! I didn't realize I had ever used my pro blog like this coding blog! But I did! The older posts aren't time stamped, but they're definately train of thought posts about my work, and not very professional either.
They'll have to go, but I'm not sure yet if I can archive them. I probably SHOULD archive them, since I don't know if I need to reference them at all.
3:04am - I found a way to backup my post history and other data elements of the site seperately from the site itself, but it's not exactly in an easily readable format.
Still, that satisfies me. So my next task is to decide what to do with the site. Should I keep it as a Wordpress site or use something else?
I'll take a look at my options.
4:49am - I've found a lot of options. Lots of them. Though, I'm probably going to stick with WordPress, I've also found a lot of new site design options. Mostly Page Builders.
Oddly, even the Page Builders I've seen labeled as Open Source have a pricetag. I'm not sure why that is? Worse, it seems like a subscription, not a flat fee.
7:18am - I ended up adding a Page Builder addon but not using it. The site's updated for now. I still want to get my github all spit and polished before I call it done, but I'm too tired for this sort of work now.
