2:30am - Well, today I'm doing something different. There's an event in the /r/roguelikedev subreddit to follow along with the Roguelike Tutorial as a group. It's a tutorial using Python, but people are welcome to do it in whatever language they choose. I said a week ago that I would join in, and while doing the tutorials I would re-write them to use C#, because I don't like Python very much. So, I'm doing that today.
2:58am - I'm working pretty slowly, and having a lot of stress wether I'm working or not, so that sucks, but I'm making a bit of progress now.
7:39am - I've been going for a pretty long time now and I'm a long way from being done. I'm also very tired, so I think I'll go lay down for a little while, and see what happens.
8:47am - Well I didn't sleep but I did get some rest and that feels nice. Now I'm back, and I guess I'll keep going, just as soon as I eat this here pudding cup.
9:32am - Alright I'm 'done'. In that I'm fed up with this lame tutorial. It's so popular I guess I subconciously assumed it was good, but the more I translate it into C# the worse it gets. You might as well just copy the code from the last chapter and start using it, for all that you'll 'learn' from the tutorial. I suppose I should've expected as much. The tutorial even says it's not for beginner programmers. I wanted to make mine a little more beginner friendly, but the way the code is written and the logic behind each change and step doesn't work for me.
I'm sort've tempted to start over and make my own Roguelike Tutorial from scratch, but I don't really want to do that. I'm not sure why I wanted to do THIS anymore. It just seemed like a good idea and I told some strangers I might so I felt obligated to do it I guess?
Well, now I'm pretty tired so I guess I'll either go to bed or cool off for a while. I don't think I'm ready to work on my own projects right now.
