2:50am - Another night awake and workin'.

I'm looking at the GDQuest coding guidelines now, seeing what nuggets of wisdom I can glean.

3:50am - Okay I've read the stuff. Interesting stuff. I'm actually thinking about trying to rebuild what little I had done from my game using their organizational methods and compartmentalization strategies.

4:12am - I went ahead and started analyzing how they handled interactions with interactables in their RPG demo. It's interesting, they have the interactable respond to the button press instead of the player. Completely opposite how I did it. Took me a while to find it, too.

5:08am - I took a little break but now I'm not sure what to do with myself. ^.^;

5:21am - I started making a new project new version of my game, but now I just don't want to deal with it. I've been working for a couple hours now... I'm going to leave this open and lay down a bit, maybe nap, maybe just re-energize, and come back in a bit.

8:26am - Back up now but the sun is in a precarious position...

Oh, and while I was away I thought up an idea for reworking how I did out-of-scene teleports. I had the teleporter and target hard-linked, and I never liked how you would have to know which teleport target to target from the scene you're teleporting from. Instead, I had the idea of numbering the teleport exits in a scene, or having that number be inferred by the order of the teleports in the scene. Then any teleporter can just say 'Teleport to this scene, this number!' and be taken there. It's not much better, but it comes with an additional benefit in that if the number is out of range, ie the exit doesn't exist, it can go with the first teleport exit, as a 'Start here if noplace else' location. Also the teleporters probably shouldn't have been directly communicating with the scene switcher; they should use signals.

9:41am - I built a skeleton of what I want to make, and I put in an escape menu so that I can exit the game normally.

My roomie is getting up though so I might have to wrap up. We'll see if I can work with him around for now.

10:39am - Well I just finished putting together my tileset for the game remake, and it's borked. The console goes nuts with errors when I try to open the tileset. I'm too worn out to try and solve it, and I definately don't want to take another hour just clipping tiles to remake it, so I'mma stop for now.
