1:16am - Here I go working again...

I managed to fix the problem with the tileset. I didn't remember the solution from last time, but I found it just the same; put up the program's RAM usage. It was barely using any, and didn't have enough to do its job.

I also went ahead and put in a basic map I can use later. Simpler than the previous one too, to save time with not having to do things I'd need to redo anyways.

Now I think it's time to make the basic player. That'll be interesting.

1:58am - I made some interesting progress and compared my work with GDQuest some more. I'd like to do more work but I realized I have some life stuff to do, and I should really get it done. So, I'm going to do some life stuff for a while.

4:40am - As it happens I'm doing more work tonight. I managed to deal with that irl stuff okay and took a break and now I'm back. I'm feeling kind of depressed lately so it's hard to do anything but work. Ahh well.

I happened to notice the GDQuest Finate State Machine example and their demo for it is really quite nice. I'll probably end up remaking it in my own game.

4:48am - I ought to mention it now that my mind has wandered to it again, that I've been thinking of yet another project I'd like to do. I don't plan on doing it while I'm working on this project, but maybe as a future project?

What I want to do is make something like what Spore was trying to do, but open-source.

Start by making an easy to use creature creator with huge potential and procedurally generate the animations based on the body shape and maybe an option list for internals. Then make it output the model, animations, and everything in a variety of common formats so it can be used in whatever.

Then I'd want to make a world for these creatures to inhabit. Ideally it would be a multiplayer, real-time physics based world, with players controlling bodies they designed themselves.

I could probably just keep adding to a system like that for my whole life and never run out of stuff to do.

But that's future me's project. Right now I've got a game to work on.

5:11am - I continue! It's almost time to take my medicine apparently. I'll have to do that soon. But first, a word from our sponsor, PAID SPONSOR LEGENDS yeah I'm just feeling silly. Right now I'm still checking out that FSM demo I downloaded. It comes with an improved one over the original demo too, so that's neat.

5:38am - Medicine taken and head currently out of sorts. I'm not sure if I'm just burned out from the night or just shaken for the moment, but I can't seem to think straight about my programming at the moment. Break time I guess.

5:41am - After breaking for a few minutes I've realized it's not just my code brain that's funky right now, I'm going to go lay down and maybe work on this more later.

10:09am - Another Work Post! I'm working some more. I had a nap and it's morning so I guess it's tomorrow now. Hard to say how these things work with my schedule.

I'm working on setting up the player for my new version of the game.

10:46am - I set up the animations for the player. Next comes setting up the FSM.

11:56am - I put together a lot of the state machine, and now it's lunch time. Wow. Be back after lunch?

2:02pm - I'm back! Lunch was good, and Rob's off doing exercise at the gym.

2:51pm - I made a bit of progress on the movement and animation. It seems to move okay, but the animation is messed up right now. I'm too sleepy to figure it out, so I'm going to put it down for now and have some fun, maybe a nap.
