9:37am - I finally managed to relax and play games and do other errands for the last couple of days. I think I'm ready to get back to work now.

The next part of my project is making the Map show up on the screen. For that I'll need graphics.

10:35am - I've been searching my HDD for my copy of one of the Oryx tilesets, but I haven't found it yet. What I did do is clear off 26 gigs of garbage data from my D drive.

10:41am - Ahh I found it. I don't think I'll use it though, I forgot it was 16x24 and I want to use square tiles for this prototype. I guess I'll be using DawnLike after all.

11:15am - Alright I've been digging out the graphics and dusting them off, and also watching some bits of tutorials on YouTube, and I think I'm going to try and use Godot's built-in tilemap system again. So we'll see how that goes.

12:48pm - After a lot of wrangling and figuring things out, it looks like the DawnLike tileset doesn't have enough wall variety to make a proper Godot Autotile out of. On the bright side, it looks like it'll be easier than I thought to switch between different tile sizes, so I might just use the Oryx tiles I've got for now after all.

I'm going to take a break though, because my Roomie and I are going out soon and I want to relax a bit before then.

5:14pm - At some point I realized I could just use the sample images from the Godot documentation for my tiles, since I'm not really going for looks or originality right now. So I'm modifying the .png that I downloaded from the Godot docs to get rid of the purple borders. After that's done I'll probably try to change the colours to something more palatable to me.

5:52pm - I finished recolouring the purple borders and the tiles look good in their own way, but now that I see them put together I realize it's not what I want either.

What I want is basically just two tiles. One for wall and one for floor. But I'd also like it to look like the walls are walls and not just different coloured squares. Technically there are four states a Map Cell can be in. Wall, Floor, Smoke and Window. That is to say, impassible and opaque, passable and clear, passable and opaque, and impassable and clear. On top of that I'll eventually be putting in tile types, but those will still have the same four basic states.

7:10pm - Lots of drawing tiles instead of using premade ones now. They look okay but there's a bit of jagginess so I must have missed something. I'll catch it later, I'm taking a break for now.

9:15pm - Back from my nap, and back to the paint mines, hauling up pixel art.

11:32pm - Alright I made a different tileset that seems to work better. I'm out of time for tonight though, so I'm going to finish here.
