12:09pm - Well I'm down at the McDonalds now and I'm having a bit of brunch. Yummy yummy brunch. Also going to watch some more of Quill18's video series on project porcupine.
1:44pm - Continuing to work, but distracted by chatting with friends.
3:11pm - Hokay I've been working (mostly) for three hours now. I think it's time for a break. I'mma have another little burger and refill my drink, and then play a game for a little while to refresh my mind.
4:31pm - Wow, I was only on break for 80 minutes? Wow.
Anyways back to work I guess. I finished doing the 'copy the basics from Quill18' though so I'm not clear on what to do next.
4:40pm - Ahh yes I'mma skip ahead in his stuff to see how he handles things like walls and loose objects.
5:37pm - Time marches ever forward. I'm actually getting bored now. Quill18 has almost got his wall system in, and I've skipped over a bunch in the middle where he does some tile painting that I don't need to do, or at least not the way he does it.
Not sure what I want to do with myself though. I could keep working here I guess, but I'm bored. But what would I do if I left? I'm not sure I want to play games any more than I want to do this. Alas.
Hmm... Earlier I was talking about The Big Game. I could do some more of that. ^.^
The idea for the reduction game is to make a Roguelike dungeon with an attached Inn/Town that grows as you progress. You get stronger by upgrading your sword and shield. Eventually you get MAX POWER and beat up the Mad Wizard at the bottom of the dungeon.
In The Big Game I'm not sure how I want progression to work. If it'll be just the same but take longer, or make it deeper. I would like there to be the option of having a party, but I don't want the party to be mandatory to survive or overpowered if employed. So that's difficult.
One thing I'm thinking about is not doing the whole world map at once. I could do it in sections. Maybe countries or continents. That way I could gradually expand the game world without having to have the whole thing finished to do the initial release.
5:49pm - Hmm... I'm actually getting kind of uncomfortable here at the McDonalds. A couple of special guys are hooting and a frightningly damaged woman is giving me sore looks. I also have to use the washroom and it won't be short, and I don't want to leave my laptop unattended. So I think I'm going to go home now. I might work more when I get there, or I might just relax for the evening.
