releeSo I'm laying in bed with my laptop on my chest and I'm thinking, hey, while I'm waiting around listening to music, why don't I see if there's a free, HTML5 tower defense game available to play online. I google it a bit and itch.io comes up as the first hit. I notice that their free html5 tower defense games are kind of lacking. There was one that was kind of interesting, and it was a minimalist tower defense game. Now, the reason I'm looking for HTML5 games specifically is that most of the classic Tower Defense games I used to play are Flash based and that's not well supported anymore.
Now, after all this I got to thinking that, gosh, I could make a pretty simple tower defense game, put it on itch.io and it'd be pretty popular with folks like me. But I'm already making other games. Where would I find time for this project? I don't know, but I'll have to consider it.
Unity can pump out games for HTML5 pretty easily, I've done it a few times for my own Ludum Dare entries. There's even a Tower Defense tutorial on the Unity 3D site. So I'm kind of surprised I didn't see any asset flips of that on itch.io.
Anyways the craziest thing is I'm thinking about open sourceing the whole project, for the betterment of the genre of simple, abstract tower defense games. I wonder if I should?
