3:26am - More work today, but now that my roomie is in bed I feel like doing some of the neccesary research for my 3D Character Creator.
For a start I'm going to actually check out Zylann's godot voxel tools and see if I can figure them out. That should be interesting!
Now, Zylann's thing is a C++ module that needs to be compiled into the Godot editor to be used, so I'll probably have to do that for the first time too.
3:42am - Shoot, I should've known I'd have to use git to get the Godot source. Or rather, that's how they reccomend doing it at least. I could probably just download it off Github without using git but I also should probably just use git. I'm a little uncomfortable with programs like git, even though I've run through git tutorials a couple times before. It's just so different from using a windows application. Plus, when I use a windows client for git, I feel like I'm doing something wrong, or like something will go wrong because I don't understand git perfectly.
Ahh well, I'll still do it. I just needed to vent a bit.
4:06am - Well I removed my old copy of git, installed the latest git, and installed GitHub's desktop client, and now I'm cloning the Godot repo on my system.
4:32am - It's beginning to look like I'll be in bed before I've gotten godot compiled even without the voxel tools. XD
I'm currently removing Visual Studio Community 2017 in order to upgrade? to Visual Studio Community 2019. It's not 'neccesary' but I thought it would be a good idea, since I haven't used Visual Studio in so long. I was going to do them side by side but they're so big these days, I need the HDD space.
But yeah I'm too tired to keep this up as long as I think it'll take. I'm going to lay down and let this run in the background. I'll try to continue tomorrow. Now that I'm this far in doing this I should be able to get the ball rolling easier next time.
